The Apple iPhone App store now houses over 250,000 Apps and is ever increasing. It’s obviously the largest mobile App store on the planet.
Looking at the 250,000 Apps to choose from to download there are over 44K books, 37K games, 29K entertainment, 20K education and 16K lifestyle. Other significant categories are music, travel and sports.
Android Market recently reached 100K Apps whilst others like BlackBerry App World by and the Nokia Ovi Store host under 5K each. BlackBerry recently made a move to fast-track their App store upwards with the acquisition of mobile App developer Cellmania. 3G
