Buyers of the iPhone 16GB and 32GB can choose monthly plans from major suppliers Telstra, Vodafone and Optus.
But analysts expect Optus’s $59 monthly plan for the Apple’s 16GB version to be a big hit.
For that price over 24 months, customers will receive $550 in credit for calls and text, plus a 2GB data allowance.
Customers will not have to pay anything upfront for the device.
“I think Optus’s $59 plan is going to hit the sweet spot for many people,” said Mark Novosel, IDC Australia telecommunications analyst. THEAUSTRALIAN

While Apple may be satisfied with the hundreds of fans who lined up last night to get their hands on the new iPhone 4, rival Research in Motion is believed to be preparing to release a device that could challenge its dominance in the smartphone sector.
